Sickness is the worst
My daughter who is almost almost a year old has come down with a pretty bad cold. I feel awful because she's miserable and not her self at all. Her poor little face is all chapped from non stop nose whipping and she's not sleeping well at all.
Some people probably thing Its not such a big deal, kids get sick? But for me it's been a huge deal, because well I feel like I have given into the sickness and taken 10 steps back on her progress of growing up and everything I've worked so hard at with her in the past month...
First she has been down to only 1 night time bottle for almost a month, but since she is so miserable/crackly/stubborn with this cold I have given her bottles daily because I hate seeing her upset. And now she expects them! Huge bummer!
Second she has a bedtime of 8:00 which we have alway stuck to even if she wasn't exactly ready in her mind. But the past 3-4 night when I lay her down she screams so instead of walking out of the room and letting he fall asleep like I normally do I end up picking her up and bringing her to the couch to cuddle and watch tv because in my mind "she just doesn't feel good and crying is just making her feel worst"
Third we had taken away her binky except for nap and bed time. Well needless to say she's gotten it all day everyday since she got sick. Can you say push over lol
And finally we switched her to cows milk and she's not the biggest fan, she much prefers her formula. She will drink the cows milk just slower and kinda off and on. But since this monster of a cold I have let her have formula again.
So basically I feel like we have taken 10 step backwards and it's all my fault because when she's sick it's easier to give in to make her happy and give her any comfort that I can. So as a punishment for myself once she feels better I have to play mean mommy for the second time and take it all away again. The first time was bad enough, who wants to do that twice! Ugh darn sickness!

The last couple days have consisted of me finally nailing down details of harpers 1st birthday party... Date, time, theme, decor, food and goodies. Boy oh boy it sure is a lot of work!
I know what a lot of people are thinking "it's not like she will remember it" and my response to that, I will and her family will. And she will have picture that show her how wonderful her 1st special day was and those will last a lifetime and because of that it's all with it to me.
Not gonna lie, it's overwhelming but it's coming together! Her theme is pumpkin and roses. Decor will consist of burlap, lace, pumpkins, and all things fall.
In the last three days I have accomplished scheduling her cake smash pictures for sept. 29th, placed the order for her cake, cookies, and cake pops, decided on the food and treats to serve, and purchase all the table ware. Compared to what all I have left to do this isn't much. But it's a start and it's all falling together.
38 more days until Harper Everleigh turns 1 year old!
